PacketLock Privacy Policy

KG3N Dynamics ("we", "our", "us") developed PacketLock as a privacy-first Android application. This Privacy Policy explains how PacketLock handles user data.

Data Collection

PacketLock does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The application does not request or access personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.

Analytics

PacketLock does not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, or usage tracking tools. No third-party analytics libraries such as Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, or similar services are included in the application.

VPN Service

PacketLock uses Android's VPNService API strictly for local, on-device network control. The VPN is used solely to intercept and block network traffic for applications you select. No network traffic is routed through external servers. The VPN operates entirely within your device and does not transmit data to any remote endpoint.

Installed Apps Access

PacketLock uses the QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES permission to display the complete list of installed applications on your device. This is required so you can select which apps to block from accessing the internet. The list of installed apps is used solely to populate the in-app blocking interface. It is never stored permanently, transmitted off-device, or shared with any third party. The list is refreshed from the system each time you open the application.

In-App Purchases

PacketLock offers an optional one-time premium upgrade through Google Play. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play's billing system. PacketLock does not process, store, or have access to any payment information such as credit card numbers or billing addresses. Third-Party Services

PacketLock integrates with one third-party service: Google Play Billing, used exclusively for processing the optional premium upgrade purchase. No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking services are included in the application.

Data Storage

All application configuration, including your blocking rules, profiles, schedules, and preferences, is stored locally on your device. Sensitive data such as purchase verification and premium status is encrypted using Android's Keystore-backed encryption system. All locally stored data is excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. This data is permanently removed when you uninstall the application or clear its data.

Permissions

PacketLock requests the following Android permissions, each with a specific functional purpose:

• VPNService — Required to create the local VPN tunnel that blocks network traffic for selected apps.
• QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES — Required to display the full list of installed apps so you can choose which ones to block.
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Detects whether the device is connected via Wi-Fi or mobile data to apply appropriate blocking rules.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — Enables automatic resumption of blocking rules after the device restarts.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Displays the persistent notification required by Android when a VPN service is active.
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — Enables scheduled blocking rules to activate and deactivate at precise times.

Children's Privacy

PacketLock does not collect data from any user, including children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted, the application is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
